There's something to said for dedication. For doing what they said couldn't be done. For doing something simply something because you can. For doing something that's just so damn silly you have to wonder why anyone would waste time doing it in the first place.

That brings us to this video of an Apple TV running on a fairly ancient television set. (Yes, kids, that's what they used to look like back in the day. Way back in the day.)

The path taken? The Apple TV HDMI runs into an RCA adapter. That runs into a VCR. That runs into coax cable, which then was run into the TV.

Obviously there are, uh, resolution issues. And I'm pretty sure that isn't 5.1 surround sound. And it's a long way to go for bad TV.

But regardless, we salute you, sir or madam. We salute you.
