How much does BritBox cost?

Price hikes are an inevitability with streaming services. Since so many of us are juggling a handful of them these days, it's no surprise that viewers are asking this exact question about BritBox

If you're not familiar with the service, BritBox is packed full of great shows for you to enjoy like gripping crime dramas like Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, The Responder, Grace, Murder in Provence and Shetland to much-loved classic shows such as classic Doctor Who, Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers and costume dramas like Sanditon and Downton Abbey.

Here’s all the info you need to know how much BritBox costs...

How much does BritBox cost in the US?

A BritBox subscription costs $7.99 per month, but if you know you want to commit long-term you can subscribe annually for $79.99 a year, which will save you nearly $14 a year.

How much does BritBox cost in the UK?

BritBox is similarly affordable in the UK. The rolling contract costs £5.99 a month, but you can instead opt for an annual subscription which will cost you £59.99 a year.

That annual subscription saves you roughly £12, meaning you essentially get 12 months' worth of BritBox access for the price of 10 if you go for the yearly plan.

If you're not already a member, though, you won't be able to sign up for BritBox in the UK via the website anymore. That's because the streaming service is now part of ITVX Premium. If you were looking to sign up to BritBox, ITVX comes with all the iconic box sets on BritBox plus a whole lot besides, and it doesn't cost any more money, either! Like BritBox, an ITVX Premium subscription still costs £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year.

Does BritBox have a free trial?

New BritBox subscriptions come with a seven-day free trial in the US, so you can check out the service and see if you're interested in what's on offer before your trial period is up.

Just don't forget to cancel your plan at least 24 hours before the trial to make sure you don't get charged if you decide the service isn't right for you.

Even though new customers can no longer subscribe to the service in the UK (as you'll be redirected to ITVX, as we said above), you can still see whether you want to watch what's on the platform as ITVX Premium does still offer a seven-day free trial.

Is BritBox free with Amazon Prime?

Whilst you can add BritBox to your Prime Video subscription as a Prime Video Channel, you'll still have to pay for your subscription. That's because adding BritBox to your Prime Video package is the same as adding any other channel like HBO or Showtime.

In order to watch BritBox on Prime Video, you'll need an active Prime Video or Amazon Prime subscription and then you'll have to pay the additional fee for the BritBox subscription. Currently, an Amazon Prime subscription will set you back $14.99/£8.99 a month or $139/£95 if you'd prefer to go for an annual subscription.

BritBox is also still available as a Prime Video Channel in the UK as of our most recent update.
