The Premier League season is nearly over, but there is still time for one of the biggest rivalry games in all of sports. This game is highly anticipated, because it was delayed over a month when these teams made the quarter finals of the FA Cup. Now, it's on and you can enjoy watching the 2019 Manchester Derby live in 4K from Fubo TV.
Manchester City vs. Manchester United starts at 3 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, April 24. It's coming to you live from Old Trafford Stadium, also known as "The Theater of Dreams" and the home of Man U. The NBCSN 4K coverage stars right at 3 p.m., so tune in ready for an immediate kickoff.
The Manchester Derby is one of the most intense rivalry matches in the Premier League. It is almost certainly the closest rivalry in distance, as these two play their home games only 4 miles away from one another. The overall rivalry favors United, and this is due in large part to their dominance in the 1980's and 90's. City only won 2 of the 25 Manchester Derby games played in those two decades. City has done much better recently, winning nine of the last 19 matches against United. One more win could make this their best stretch in the history of this Derby.
Manchester City (27-1-7) is currently in 2nd position on the Premier League tables, with 86 points. They are in a race for the Premier League championship with 1st position Liverpool, who is a mere two points ahead of City. With so few games left in the season, Manchester City is running out of opportunities to make up ground. A win against their shared hometown rival could help them avoid a mistake that might cost them the title.
Manchester United (19-8-7) has been sliding down the tables, falling to 6th position with 64 points. Just over a month ago, they were in fourth position, and in line for a spot in the Champions League. Since March 10th, they've lost three of five matches, including an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Everton. They can still regain a top four position, and salvage this season but it will need to start with a big performance in the Manchester Derby.
Man City won their last Premier League edition of this Derby back in November 3-1. Check out the highlights here:
