The only thing better than a good rumor is a good confirmation, and today we have it from the man himself: The Expanse — just weeks after its cancellation on Syfy — is coming to Amazon. Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, dropped the news at the International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles.

(If you're lacking context here, Bezos also leads Blue Origin, a private spaceflight company that is working to make space travel a routine, common experience.)

The announcement was caught on Twitter by "astronaut teacher" Mike Mongo after days of speculation, with Bezos saying simply, "The Expanse is saved."

Fans of the show, which was canceled by Syfy after three seasons, had launched an online campaign to #SaveTheExpanse over the past few weeks, and Amazon quickly became a frontrunner in the fight.
