The Robinsons — everybody's favorite navigationally challenged family — will keep fumbling their way through space and ice and planets and caves and stuff for a second season of Lost in Space on Netflix. The official LIS Twitter account announced as much this morning, though we have no idea when the next season will drop.

For those of you who've been living under a rock — or, ya know, marooned way the hell out in space — Lost in Space is the story of the Robinson family, an occasionally functioning (or occasionally malfunctioning) robot, and a stowaway doctor whose galactic voyage goes off course, and hijinks ensue. This is the latest reboot of the 1960s classic, which also a mostly forgettable movie released in 1998.

Or, as Netflix itself puts things:

Set 30 years in the future, colonization in space is now a reality, and the Robinson family is among those tested and selected to make a new life for themselves in a better world. But when the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a dangerous alien environment, lightyears from their original destination.

It's a fun watch, and worthy of a second season.
