Dish — parent company of Sling TV — announced its second-quarter earnings for 2018 this morning. Here's what you need to know:

  • Sling added approximately 41,000 subscribers from April through June. (Sling added 91,000 subscribers the previous three months.
  • Sling now has approximately 2.344 million subscribers — up from 2.303 million at the end of March.
  • Dish lost fewer Pay-TV subscribers in Q2 — about 151,000 — than in Q1 and now totals about 12.997 million.
  • In other words, new Sling TV subscribers aren't outpacing the number of those leaving Dish TV.
  • Q2 revenue was $3.46 billion, down from $3.68 billion in Q2 2017.

What's that mean for you as a subscriber? Not much yet, though Sling has (like other providers) seen a slight price increase in the past few months.
