Sony Bravia ZF9

Sony always has a large presence at the IFA conference in Berlin, and things are no different this year. For our purposes, the new AF9 OLED and ZF9 LCT televisions are of note, with the models going up for preorder on Aug. 31, and expected to ship in late September.

The AF9 comes in 55- and 65-inch sizes, and the ZF9 hits at 65- and 75-inch models. Both run Android TV, and both are powered by Sony's next-gen Picture Processor X1 Ultimate, which "can intelligently detect and analyze each object in the picture through Sony's new Object-based Super Resolution for exceptional accuracy and detail." (So it's got that going for it, which is nice.)

These also are "Masters Series" devices and as such are included in the first batch of "Netflix Calibrated Mode" TVs.

Here's how recommended pricing breaks down:

Model UK £ Irish €
75-inch ZF9 £4999 €5899
65-inch ZF9 £3799 €4499
65-inch AF9 £3999 €4699
55-inch AF9 £2999 €3549
