The New York Yankees (103-59) were one of the most dominant teams in MLB this season, with the third best regular season record in 2019. The Yankees earned a spot in the American League Championship Series by sweeping the Minnesota Twins in the Division round. They have excelled at the plate, scoring the most runs in all of baseball this year. The Yankees got here with a balanced lineup where everyone contributes, with second baseman DJ LeMahieu leading the team in hits, Gleyber Torres leading in home runs, and right fielder Aaron Judge tops in OPS. The Yankees have a long history of success in the playoffs, but face a team that has given them fits recently.

The Houston Astros (107-55) bested the Yankees and Dodgers to claim the best overall record in the MLB regular season. However, the cliche holds that they throw out the records in the playoffs, and that showed in the Division round as the Tampa Rays took the Astros a full five games. They were lifted up in that series by second baseman Jose Altuve, who had three home runs and five runs batted in over the five game series. Houston also has great pitching, allowing the second fewest runs in baseball, which sets up quite the matchup with the tough Yankees lineup. However, the Astros were 4-3 against the Yankees this season, and eliminated the Bronx Bombers in the Postseason two years ago en route to a World Series title. Will another championship be in the cards this year for the 'Stros?

It is great to see more sports broadcast in 4K HDR because it makes such a huge difference for big games. Sports are considered to have been a big driver behind the growth of HDTV when the standard was still new to viewers. Baseball fans can enjoy this ALCS broadcast in 4K, and hope it gets them closer to a full 4K MLB Postseason in the near future.
