The Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-1) gotten off to a great start in the 2019 season, and the schedule sets up for them to have a shot a bigger things. The Cowboys only loss so far was a road game at #11 Texas, and it was a close game. Oklahoma State has been scoring in bunches, with three games over 40 points. Give major credit to Junior Running Back Chuba Hubbard, who already has over 900 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. Coach Mike Grundy was in the same situation in 2018 with a 4-1 Cowboy squad, but he's hoping to avoid losing five of the next seven like last year. They only have one ranked team remaining in #6 Oklahoma in the Bedlam Series game.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (2-2) are looking for a get right game, even facing a tough opponent like Oklahoma State. After starting the year with two wins, the Red Raiders dropped back to back games at Arizona and at #6 Oklahoma. Even worse, they were held under 17 points scoring in each of those games. They've struggled to run the ball, as their entire team rushing yardage is 25% behind the Cowboys star Chuba by himself. Texas Tech closed out 2018 by losing five straight games, and they did make a move to new head coach Matt Wells. But they can't afford to get caught in another long slide in the Big 12.
