We're now four rounds deep into the FA Cup. (For those of us in the U.S., that's the Football Association Challenge Cup, or the Emirates FA Cup, if you prefer your football with a little more branding. In any event, it's the oldest national soccer competition in the world.) And now is the time when those of us in this part of the world start to get a little more interested.
The question, then, is how can you stream the FA Cup if you're here in America?
The answer is simple. ESPN+ has you covered.
ESPN+ is the dedicated streaming service from the sports network of the same name. It's available on just about every device you can think of. Android phones. iPhones. Tablets. Web browsers. Chromecast. AirPlay. Amazon Fire TV. Roku. Take your pick. You can watch all kinds of original content and live sports, including the UFC, hockey, soccer, football — the works. And you'll go much further than what you'll find on traditional TV.
That brings us back to soccer (erm, football) and the FA Cup.
This Friday we've got two games on tap. Bristol City takes on Bolton Wanderers at 2:45 p.m. Eastern, and Arsenal tackles Manchester United at 2:55 p.m. Eastern.
And on Saturday we've got even more games on ESPN+. (All times here are Eastern.)
- Accrington Stanley vs. Derby County, 7:30 a.m.
- Brighton & Hove Albion vs. West Bromwich Albion, 10 a.m.
- Doncaster Rovers vs. Oldham Athletic, 10 a.m.
- Manchester City vs. Burnley, 10 a.m.
- Middlesbrough vs. Newport County, 10 a.m.
- Newcastle United vs. Watford, 10 a.m.
- Portsmouth vs. Queens Park Rangers, 10 a.m.
- Shrewsbury Town vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers, 10 a.m.
- Swansea City vs. Gillingham, 10 a.m.
- Millwall vs. Everton, 12:30 p.m.
- AFC Wimbledon vs. West Ham United, 2:45 p.m.
And on Sunday we've got:
- Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Hotspur, 11 a.m.
- Chelsea vs. Sheffield Wednesday, 1 p.m.
Think about all that for a minute. That's 15 FA Cup games, available for streaming here in the U.S., all for the price of an overpriced cup of coffee. (Frankly, I think we'll get more out of the soccer than we would the latte, but that's just me.)
And, actually, you can get all that soccer for free, because ESPN+ (as do most streaming services) comes with a free trial.
So that's 15 FA Cup games for free this weekend, with a free trial of ESPN+. But if you're anything like us, you'll let that convert to a full month of service, as it's quickly proved its worth.
