There are a lot of MMA matches to get excited about this weekend, and they aren't limited to the big pay per view event. In fact, this main event is timed to feature the biggest fights with time after for other action if you choose. There will be championships on the line in two featured fights when you watch Chandler vs. Pitbull and Lima vs. MVP in Bellator 221 on DAZN

Bellator 221 is taking place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. on Saturday, May 11. The live broadcast is on DAZN, and it begins with the Prelims at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time, followed by the Main card at 9 p.m. Eastern.

There are two big draw fights for this week's Bellator event. The main event pits champion against champion. "Iron" Michael Chandler (19-4) is the Bellator Lightweight Champion, and is considered one of the best fighters with this MMA league. It is his title that is on the line in this main event. Chandler has been a mainstay in this promotion since his 2010 debut win in Bellator 31. This is his third time holding the lightweight title, which he first won in a grand prix back in 2011. He is hoping his third time's a charm to hold the belt for a longer stretch, but this may be his most difficult challenge yet.

Patrício "Pitbull" Freire (28-4) is the Bellator Featherweight Champion, but he is moving in weight class to challenge for the Lightweight Championship in this fight. The popular Brazilian is planning to stick around. He just signed a multi year deal with the promotion, where he fights alongside his brother, Patricky Freire. Together, they've been fierce competitors in Bellator. In fact, Michael Chandler defeated Patricky Freire to claim the Lightweight Championship his second time around. After the fight, Chandler and Pitbull got into quite an argument, so it is possible that bad blood is providing extra motivation for this match.

In the second major fight of the event, the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix has a semi finals match of this title tournament. Douglas "The Phenom" Lima (30-7) will face off against Michael "Venom" Page (14-0) as both hope to continue their quest to become the undisputed Bellator Welterweight champion. Lima is coming off a win against Andrey Koreshkov in their first round, and MVP is fresh from a decision over Paul Daley in his first round bout. Either current Champion Rory MacDonald or Neiman Gracie will await the winner of this match in the finals.

Here are the other match-ups of the night. They are, as always, subject to change.
