ESPN+ UFC Fight Night March 16 Splash Promo

UFC keeps the exciting Fight Night series rolling through a busy month. After last week's thrilling Heavyweight KO, the second of three big Fight Night events this month drops down to spotlight the Welterweight class. You can be a part of it this Saturday by watching Till vs Masvidal streaming exclusively on ESPN+.

UFC Fight Night Till vs Masvidal coverage from The O2 Arena in London starts at 1 p.m. Eastern time on March 16. It starts with the Prelims matchups, with the main card matches at approximately 3 p.m. The complete event is on ESPN+, so you can tune in once then rip off the knob.

The main event matchup of Darren "The Gorilla" Till (17-1-1) vs Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal (32-13) puts the spotlight back on big names among UFC welterweights. Darren Till is having a homecoming of sorts, as he grew up in nearby Liverpool. However, he came into his own by training in Brazil after a violent street altercation in 2012, where he was badly wounded in a stabbing, which he described to BBC Sport. Till has had an amazing rise in professional MMA, going undefeated for over five years, until his first loss to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley last September in his first ever title fight. Till sees himself as an entertainer as well as a fighter, and he says he plans to put on a super show for his hometown fans.

Jorge Masvidal is a much more experienced fighter than Till. Instead of lots of trash talk or entertaining clips, Masvidal plans let his love of fighting speak for him. He hasn't fought professionally in over 15 months, and he lost his last two matches by decision. He told ESPN MMA that all the attention of other fighters, and bickering outside the cage doesn't mean much to him, and he'd much rather get back to the fun of fighting. Hear him mix intensity and chill in his own words here:

UFC Fight Night is more than just one headline fight. The full card features other key fights, including Co-main event Leon Edwards (16-3) vs Gunnar Nelson (17-3). Edwards is also a bit of a hometown draw in this event. While he was born in Jamaica, he was raised in Birmingham, England, where he lives and trains now. He and Gunnar Nelson are evenly matched with similar records, but Edwards is riding a six fight winning streak. The winner of this match should propel themselves into a spot in the top ten rankings of UFC Welterweights.

The rest of the card, as always subject to change, is as follows:

Main card

  • Volkan Oezdemir (15-3) vs Dominick Reyes (10-0)
  • Nathaniel Wood (15-3) vs Jose Quinonez (8-2)
  • Danny Roberts (16-3) vs Claudio Silva (12-1)
  • Jack Marshman (22-8) vs John Phillips (21-8)
